Baked breads and biscuits
Bread pudding is one of the easiest desserts that you can make. It's warm and so, so good. You can eat it for breakfast or brunch too if you like. It's really quick to throw together too. And with whiskey sauce, you can't go wrong. The sauce can be changed to bourbon or rum if you prefer, or leave out the alcohol altogether. I would recommend using a rum extract if you do though. It's really versatile.
Banana bread, is such a quick and easy bread. It's sweet and moist and smells heavenly while it's baking. It's also very versatile, milk chocolate chips can be swapped for white chocolate, or left out completely. You can add in any nuts of your choice, the possibilities are endless. It's really up to you.
Pull apart bread is one of the first things I learned to bake. It's so easy to make and it tastes soooooo good right out of the oven. And made with olives and cheese?? Oh my gosh! We can't get enough of it.
Oooooooooo so fancy! These are perfect with a cup of white tea. They are soft and just a little crisp and boy do they smell great! We've been on a scone kick lately. They are just so easy to make. And you can whip these bad boys up in no time!
Scones are best served warm, right out of the oven. A little crisp on the outside, and warm and soft on the inside... They are perfect to eat with your favorite cup of coffee, on this rainy day.
Ok so everyone in the house was screaming for cinnamon rolls this morning. I found a few recipes online that looked promising but they take 6 to 8 hours to make. Ummmm no thanks. That's a bit too long. So I decided to wing it. It's similar to the king cake that I make, it just doesn't take nearly as long. The whole process takes about 2 hours.
Beignets are pretty much everywhere in southern Louisiana. They are little pillowy clouds of sweet airy dough, fried and covered with powdered sugar. They are sooooo yummy! I've seen in Australia that they make something called fairy bread, that is served at children's birthday parties. It's white bread, buttered, and COVERED in sprinkles. It is too stinking cute!
Biscuits are a staple here at our house. We eat them for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They are basically a buttery sponge to soak up whatever goodness you want to dip them in.
