Icebox cake

Icebox cake

Ice box cake isn't really a cake, it's more like a trifle. It's really easy to put together too, the hardest part is waiting for it to set up in the fridge.

Here's the recipe:

  • 2 boxes of instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 1/2 cups of milk
  • 6 oz of milk chocolate chips plus 1/2 cup
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 box of graham crackers
  • Caramel sauce (store bought or homemade)

First prepare the pudding according to the package directions, using the 2 packages of pudding mix and 4 cups of the milk.

Let it set up in the fridge for about 15 minutes.

While the pudding is setting up make the chocolate sauce. Heat up 1/2 cup of milk in the microwave. Stir every 30 seconds or so, you want it hot, but not boiling.

Add in the butter and stir well with a whisk.

Let it cool in the fridge for about an hour.

Start layering a 9 by 13 inch pan once the pudding and chocolate sauce are ready. Start with a layer of graham crackers on the bottom.
