Slow Cooker Recipes
Stew is our go to meal for busy nights. It's so easy to set the crock pot in the morning, and by supper time, you have an awesome meal, ready to eat. Sometimes it's venison stew, and sometimes it's chicken. It just depends on what we have in the freezer. I'm really lucky, my Dad hunts, so we get game meat, quite often. But you can use regular pork in place of the boar, it's really good too.
Ok so the weather has gotten a little cooler, and now that we've put the gumbo pot away, we wanted something a little more "stick to your ribs". We had a ton of cleaning and errands to do today, plus my oven being out of commission, it was the perfect day to bust out the Crock-Pot. One of the easiest meals you'll ever make.
If you're looking for something easy to cook, while you're at work all day, this is the recipe for you. Beans and rice are so comforting and pretty cheap to prepare as well. They're really easy to make in a crock pot, but can be made on the stove as well.
Ahhhh red beans and rice, Cajun comfort food. They are creamy and delicious. They are great paired with fried chicken, a pork chop, or corn bread, or all on their own. They are economical and are great for the day before payday. Traditionally made on Mondays, but we eat em anytime we want. Plus, they're kind of good for you. BONUS!
